OPERATION KHANYISA AT NAMPO 2013

The NAMPO Agricultural Trade Show, known as NAMPO Harvest Day or NAMPO Oesdag, is held annually in Bothaville.  It’s described as one of the largest agricultural trade shows in the world and attracting approximately 70,000 visitors a year. 

Operation Khanyisa had an interactive stand in the Eskom Exhibition Hall. It was rugby themed, featured a competition and attracted plenty of excited visitors. 

The power is in your hands

Electricity theft and the need to fight this serious crime have been a key strategic focus in South Africa in recent years. Not only does electricity theft pose significant dangers, but it also plays a major role in power outages and price increases. To combat the problem and to mobilise South Africans to use power legally, safely and efficiently, Operation Khanyisa was launched in October 2010.

Electricity theft under the spotlight at African Utility Week

Speaking at the African Utility Week conference on Wednesday, Eskom's Lodine Redelinghuys said that electricity theft remains a pressing problem, and many innocent people are electrocuted when criminals leave cables and wiring exposed.

 

 

Supporting Operation Finish Tops Fun Run in Moroke

 

The Moroke Operation Finish Tops Fun Run took place this past weekend (Saturday, 11 May).

We have a Capricorn FM interview with the Moroke site coordinator, Jeffrey Koma and interviews with the winners.
 
The event was a resounding success with a great tournout from the commnunity.

High energy at African Utility Week

Operation Khanyisa's interactive exhibition at the African Utility Week attracted crowds of people eager to learn about the work we do. The conference is on at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
